The people pass; their words pass faster
Multitasking, a taxing task I can't master
Fully in the moment, deep in thought
Can't help but be distracted by who I'm not
The lights and sounds bombard my senses
Loneliness isn't a muscle you flex, it just cramps and tenses
It can grow stronger or it can atrophy
If only it were up to me
For now the words are my friends
The rhymes the solace
I may never find my place
It's the small talk in between spaces
That connect the unfamiliar faces
It's the conversation we shared
The feelings we dared
The souls we bared
Even if its fleeting, at least for one night we cared
